Professor Steve Kennelly has an international reputation for leading projects providing research and science-based management advice. He is former Chief Scientist of the NSW Dept of Primary Industries, Director of Research for NSW Fisheries, International Consultant for the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation, and has held many other academic and advisory roles. His work has included running large industry-based fisheries observer programs, bycatch reduction projects and overseeing hundreds of wild fishery, ecosystem, biometrics, agriculture and aquaculture research programs. He is a regular speaker at international fora and has worked in many developed and developing countries in most continents. He holds a BSc (Honours), PhD and a Doctor of Science Degree from the University of Sydney, and is an Adjunct Professor of Macquarie University and Southern Cross University.
